Tips Loan Officers Can Use to Improve Their Video Marketing
Video Marketing is here. Or should I say it’s everywhere. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Youtube, Vine, videos are endless, and they’re engaging. In two days a video of a man pushing on a cart of ducks gained 3.9 million views. As of the posting of this blog, it’s at over 12,000,000 views. Videos are viral, and you need them to market your business.
It’s not likely that you’re going to need a duck army for your business, but 51.9% of marketing professionals are naming video as the type of content they release with the highest return on investment. Screaming ducks aside video is good, really good.
So here’s what you do.
Get On A Schedule
Setting up a recording schedule may seem daunting at first, but it will help motivate you to do it. Recording is simple. You carry a video recording device around in your pocket all day and use it to send texts, emails, and make phone calls. Now you can use it to record for video marketing as well.
Space your videos out evenly. Unlike a daily blog post your clients and partners can skim, a video is a longer format and time commitment on their end. Consider one every week or two.
And if you’re hesitant, you don’t need to post the first one you record! Record four or five videos first to get yourself comfortable with the process and let video number six be the first one you post. After all, practice makes perfect!
Keep Videos Short
Data shows viewer retention on videos is less than 30 seconds. This is great news for you because it means you don’t need to spend a lot of time coming up with a grand script! You can get right to your point, say it, and cut the video.
This also means that there’s a lot you can do with your videos. Not every video has to be about a loan program. Try switching it up. Maybe your video is just a quick, 10 second clip sharing your excitement with your clients, partners, and prospects that your local team won. Or a quick reminder that we’re nearing that time to change your clocks. One of Absolute’s Loan Officer’s did a push-up challenge video and got a loan out of it from one of his viewers! Video Marketing has a wide reach.
Expand Beyond Youtube and Facebook
Once you’re comfortable in your schedule try stepping outside the box. Explore apps that are designated to short videos such as Vine. The more sites and apps you’re able to get your name and brand on, the likelier you are to appear across Google searches. Keep in mind; you need to keep these sites and profiles active for this to be true. Little is worse for your image than for a prospect to come across a dead page with your picture on it.
Remember: There’s Viral Potential
Videos are shared more than any other form of content. So a video is more likely to reach a wider audience than an image post or sharing a blog or article. This means the longer you stick to your recording schedule and the more videos you put up, one of your videos could hit that viral gold mine. This is especially likely if you post videos with a wide spread of topics that can appeal to a larger audience.
