Absolute Mortgage Helps Make the MORELove Project’s First Annual Charity Golf Invitational a Huge Success
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
It’s not often that an event we sponsor is referred to as “the best day I’ve had in many, many years” by one of its attendees, but such was the case with the MORELove Project’s First Annual Charity Golf Invitational, which took place Wednesday, June 21. Sponsored by Absolute Mortgage and Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission, the tournament was a huge success for a variety of reasons.
The MORELove Project was founded by Absolute Mortgage’s own Kristine Moreland, who is not only one of our Mortgage Advisors but also a longtime advocate for Seattle’s many homeless citizens. The organization’s aim is to provide services and support for the city’s homeless in order to help them transition from an existence fraught with instability and fear to lives characterized by support, security, and love.
Through partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and non-profits, the MORELove Project seeks to make care and services available to those who need them most. Whether by large-scale events and fundraisers like the Charity Golf Invitational scheduled throughout the year, or by simply walking the streets of the city every Tuesday with members of Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission armed with clothing and food, the MORELove Project provides hope for the homeless by means of tangible blessings like blankets, toiletries, and other necessary supplies.
Held at the beautiful Golf Club at Newcastle, the Charity Invitational was sponsored by Absolute Mortgage, as well as by Finance of America, Absolute Branches, Cascara Capital, Xtreme Consulting, Jobe Real Estate, Kitsap Bank, Eastside Funding, Mattson Law Firm, Rylee Park, Nex Title, Earth Friendly, and many individual sponsors as well.
And are you ready for this? The MORELove Project’s First Annual Charity Golf Invitational raised a grand total of $147,244.00! This substantial amount of money is a token of the participants’ generosity, as well as a testament to what just a small handful of local institutions can do when they are organized, motivated, and made aware of real needs such as that of Seattle’s homeless community.
One of the event’s organizers, Erica Andrews, put it best: “I am proud that we put on such a well-organized, fun day for those who support MORELove. Events like this are so rewarding because they really do allow us to be someone’s constant.”
It should be obvious by now that we at Absolute Mortgage are more than just another group of home-loan experts. While our primary goal is to be a trusted financial resource for potential homeowners in the greater Puget Sound area, we also care deeply about the community we serve, and our vision, core values, and practice bear this out. Therefore we both desire and expect to be a part of many such charitable ventures in the future.
